Welcome to the trend impact and uncertainty analysis for DEMEx27. Your input will help evaluate the trends identified during our research and guide the prioritisation of the most impactful and uncertain ones for scenario development.
The 80 shortlisted trends are split across four surveys. This one contains 20 trends: 6 Technological and 14 Economic. Each trend is presented with a title and a short description.
You will be asked to assess each trend on two questions.
1. IMPACT: How big or significant could the potential impact be on DEME if this trend unfolds?
• 1 Low: Weak or negligible impact; isolated to small niche areas or specific sub-sectors of DEME and its business.
• 2 Moderate: Noticeable local impacts; unlikely to alter or reshape DEME and its business.
• 3 High: Broad and substantial impact; directly affects multiple interconnected parts of DEME and its business.
• 4 Very High: Transformational impact; highly likely to structurally reshape DEME, regulatory policies, or global markets.
2. UNCERTAINTY: How ambiguous, unpredictable, or lacking in solid evidence is the timing, direction, or magnitude of this trend's future evolution?
• 1 Low: Highly predictable; the overall direction, pace, and eventual outcome are fairly certain.
• 2 Moderate: The general trajectory is well understood; minor localised unknowns or timing variations remain.
• 3 High: Significant variables exist; several key underlying uncertainties could shift the final outcome considerably.
• 4 Very High: Deeply unpredictable; future development is driven by volatile factors, creating multiple plausible and divergent paths.
